GREEN BAY - Officials over seeing the Lambeau Field construction project say it is about 40% complete.

“We've put a tremendous amount of work in place the last five months,” said Scott Stenman, the director of development for Hammes Company.

Work started on the $143 million renovation project in January. So far, everything is on schedule and within budget.

“There’s a lot of work to go,” said Stenman. “We still have to build a lot of bathrooms, concessions, put a lot of seats in.”

Stenman says the north end zone work is nearly complete and should be ready for football in August. It includes a new roof top viewing platform, scoreboard and gate.

Work on the south end zone and its 6,700 new seats is expected to be finished for the 2013 season.

“There's some great things in store this season with the video boards and of course next year with more seating as well,” said Aaron Popkey, a spokesperson for the Packers.

The biggest difference for fans will likely be the new HD scoreboards. They are four times the size of the old ones.

Overall, the Packers are happy with the project's progress.

“The structure itself is obviously very impressive and we've been hearing from a lot of fans and people in the area on just how exciting it is to see the change take place,” said Popkey.

It is equally exciting for the project's workers, who will continue working through the upcoming season.

“This is not a job, this is a lot of fun to come to work everyday,” said Stenman.

Details on pricing for the new seats are expected to be released in fall.

Season ticket holders will have the option to switch their current seats for those in the new seating area.
