BELLEVUE - The Bellevue Village Board gave the first of several approvals needed for a proposed Costco store.
Costco, a discount superstore chain, wants to build a store on Monroe Rd. (County GV), just north of Wisconsin 172.
Wednesday night, the Bellevue Village Board voted 4-1 to rezone the land from agricultural to commercial.
The plans include the construction of an approximately 150,000 square foot store and a fueling station. The new store will feature a tire center, indoor food court and bakery. This will be the fifth Costco Store in Wisconsin and the first location in Northeast Wisconsin. It is anticipated that the new store will add approximately 200 full and part-time jobs. The store could open later this year.
