GREEN BAY - It looks like the famous red kettles could use a little green.
With just twelve days until Christmas, the Salvation Army of Brown County is more than halfway to reaching its $1.2 million goal.
So far the organization has raised $615,541.
The Salvation Army says bell ringers are still needed. There are still 2,852 one-hour bell ringing shifts available in Brown County.
Meanwhile, the Fox Cities Red Kettle Campaign is also reporting lower numbers and fewer bell ringers.
Organizers say they only have half of the time slots filled.
And the money being brought in through the red kettles is less this year too. Down about 10 to 15 percent.
The Fox Cities campaign goal is also $1.2 million.
