GREEN BAY - A Green Bay man has been convicted of killing his girlfriend.
Richard Gardipee, 32, was convicted of first-degree intentional homicide and resisting or obstructing an officer in the June death of Wendy Garcia. The 26-year-old Garcia was stabbed to death in the couple's west side home. According to the criminal complaint, Gardipee admitted to police he stabbed Garcia with a kitchen knife. The complaint also says the stabbing escalated from a fist fight about Gardipee's use of pain killers.
Family members have told FOX 11 the victim went by the name Wendy Botsford, although police have identified her as Wendy Garcia.
Gardipee is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 25.
