BELLEVUE - After a long Tuesday night, the search continues in Brown County for three men authorities say are involved in an armed home invasion.
Officials say the suspects got away with about $1,500 in cash and coins.
It all took place in broad daylight at a home just off Bellevue Street.
Tim Wilmet lives two doors down from where the alleged invasion took place.
"They were yelling we've just been robbed. And I'm like huh? And I looked, and there's a guy there, he took off running trying to find him," said Wilmet.
Brown County Sheriff's Captain David Konrath says three men entered the home with a gun looking for one thing.
"They went right to a jug, a milk jug and removed it from a shelf in the kitchen," said Konrath.
A man and woman were in the home. Konrath says the woman spoke up.
"The victim had obviously been saving that money for her children. She made a comment that's for my kid. Then he actually cocked the hammer on the back of the revolver pointing it at her," said Konrath.
Konrath says the victim froze, and the invaders were gone.
"And he came out of the house there, I saw the back side of them," said Wilmet.
Deputies say they believe one of the men ran down nearby railroad tracks. Police dogs were called in to help.
"The Green Bay police canine responded. They established a track and lost it later in the pursuit," said Konrath.
A pursuit that lasted for more than five hours. Sheriff's deputies, Green Bay police and State Patrol officers searched a marshy area near the scene, but came up empty.
Investigators say the robbery was not random.
"Whether they knew the individuals is uncertain. But they obviously had some kind of inside information, that this woman had been saving this money in a milk jug for her children, entered the residence specifically to grab that," said Konrath.
Konrath says about $1,500 was taken, no one was hurt, but those in the Bellevue trailer park say they are still shaken.
"My door has been locked since. I don't leave it unlocked anymore, even at home," said Wilmet.
If you have information about the home invasion, the Brown County Sheriff's Office would like you to call Crimestoppers at (920) 432-7867.
