GREEN BAY - Nearly 150 Special Olympians took to the basketball courts Saturday in Green Bay.
Organizations at U-W Green Bay hosted the first annual Special Olympics Phoenix Invite.
Thirteen teams, including two from out of state, participated in the event.
Organizers of the invite say it's rewarding for all involved.
"This is a really good opportunity for the Special Olympics, and our student athletes to help out in the community," said student athlete Paul Choudoir.
"This is my first time here and I'm loving it. Go Special Olympics!" said athlete Greg Leslie.
Special Olympics athletes and coaches were also given free passes to Saturday's Phoenix women's basketball game.
