GREEN BAY - Sportsmen in Wisconsin weighed in on the US Senate race Sunday.
The National Rifle Association threw its support behind Tommy Thompson.
NRA president David Keene formally endorsed the candidate at a Thompson campaign stop in Green Bay.
Keene praised Thompson for his lifelong support of the rights of gun owners and sportsmen and women in Wisconsin.
The NRA gives Thompson's opponent, Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin, an "F" rating, for what Keene calls "a career of infringing on our constitutional freedoms."
A spokesman for Baldwin's campaign issued a statement Sunday. It said, "Tammy is a gun owner herself, supports the 2nd amendment and is proud to have strong support from Wisconsin sportsmen across the state."
