DE PERE - St. Norbert College in De Pere has an economic impact of about $121 million a year.
That's according to a new study released Tuesday.
The study was conducted by St. Norbert economics professor Sandy Odorzynski and College Research Institute executive director Dave Wegge.
It says the school's operating budget, construction projects, and spending by students and visitors has a direct impact of $67 million.
The institution also supports more than 1,200 jobs in Brown County generating more than $56 million in annual labor income.
“An average St. Norbert College employee contributes about 77 volunteer hours a year. And if you think about that, that's almost two work weeks,” said Odorzynski. “Our students, as busy as they are, contribute about 28 hours every year."
Combined students and staff volunteer nearly 93,000 hours a year in Brown County.
