GREEN BAY - More supplies from Northeast Wisconsin will soon be headed to help victims of Superstorm Sandy.
Members of Green Bay's Atonement Lutheran Church began loading supplies onto a donated Schneider semi-trailer Tuesday.
The group is collecting a wide range of items. They include paper products, personal hygiene products and various non-perishable foods.
"People like to give to these things. They really feel that you know this tangible item is going to a family in need and they very much understand the need for food,” said Bethany Thier, mission and outreach director at Atonement.
Organizers say the donations will be headed to Westchester County in New York. That’s about 40 miles north of New York City.
“The food bank that we are giving to was basically scraping the bottom of the barrel recently. So all of this food is going to make it out there for Thanksgiving and really hopefully make some people smile,” said Thier.
Monetary donations can also be made at the church.
Supplies will be shipped to the East Coast Monday.
