SWAT team called to Green Bay apartment

GREEN BAY - The SWAT team was called to an apartment complex on Green Bay's east side Sunday morning because of a man threatening suicide.

The man's friend called police around 5 a.m., saying he was threatening suicide and had several knives.

Officials say the man is in his 20s.

Police evacuated people from adjoining apartments at Deckner Manor but say the public was never in danger.

The man surrendered to police around 6:30 a.m.

He was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but officials say he was not hurt.
