TOWN OF GREEN BAY - Two people were killed and another hurt in a head-on crash in Brown County Friday morning.
Sheriff’s officials said the crash happened just before 9:40 on Hwy. 54 near Gauthier Road in the Town of Green Bay. An SUV driven by a 38-year-old man heading east crossed the center line and hit a vehicle headed west.
The sheriff’s office said the driver of the westbound vehicle, 83-year-old Norbert W. Dier from the Algoma area, was killed. His wife, 82-year-old Myra A. Dier, was initially taken to the hospital but has died of injuries sustained in the crash. Officials on the scene said the driver of the SUV, from the Luxemburg-Casco area, had injuries to his lower extremities.
Authorities are looking into recommending charges of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle against the driver of the SUV.
