GREEN BAY - Before Santa and his helpers buy toys for Christmas, safety experts say there are some toys you should stay clear of.
The 27th annual "Trouble in Toyland" report released Tuesday concedes most toys are safe. But some made the naughty list. Those include some play food, snake egg magnets, and a Dora the Explorer guitar and backpack.
The Wisconsin Public Interest Research Group tests toys for toxic chemicals and choking hazards.
"I think it's good to just kind of look at the toy itself and a lot of stores will let you, you know, you're able to kind of try it out or look at it, to think about are there any pieces here on this toy that could potentially become loose or if the toy is making noise, you know, does it sound loud to myself; and if it does, it's going to be that much louder even to a small child,” said Dr. Molly Kleiman, Bellin Health pediatrician.
