GREEN BAY - A utility pole fire left thousands of people without power in the Green Bay area for about an hour Sunday evening.

Wisconsin Public Service said the fire at the corner of Velp and Military Avenues caused the outages.

The utility said as many as 7,000 customers were without power at one time.

The fire has been taken care of, and power has been restored.
