GREEN BAY - The Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary cared for more than 5,000 injured and orphaned wildlife in 2012.
Sanctuary officials say that was an increase of approximately 200 animals from 2011.
The Wildlife Sanctuary is the second largest animal rehabilitation program in the state.
In 2012, volunteers dedicated more than 3,900 hours to operate the rehab center and care for the record number of injured and orphaned animals.
“Our animal rehab volunteers are trained and certified to take care of animals in their homes,” said animal curator Lori Bankson in a release. “The dedication is simply amazing.”
The Sanctuary is seeking volunteers for 2013 and is holding a rehabilitation training program in March. If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information, please call (920) 391-3671.
