TOWN OF SCOTT - A 98-year-old Sheboygan County man is dead after he was hit by a van while getting his mail.

Officials say Erhard Klug of rural Random Lake was hit Tuesday afternoon on County Highway HH in the Town of Scott.

Officials say he accidentally stepped into the path of a van that was driven by a 52-year-old Random Lake woman.

He was flown to a hospital where he later died.
