Historic Two Rivers museum on the move

TWO RIVERS - A local museum is saying goodbye to it's historic location in Two Rivers.

Friday was the last chance to visit The Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum inside an original Hamilton Building.

Guided tours and live printing demonstrations were a part of the final day.

Guests could also create Hamilton-themed posters to take home.

The building is empty aside from the museum.

Staff members say its no longer affordable to stay.

"It's an aging facility that would be incredibly difficult to heat for just the small museum," the Museum's Director, Jim Moran says. "So, our job is to protect the collection and that's why we gotta go."

The museum is the world's largest collection of wooden type, with more than 1.5 million pieces.
    
The new location has yet to be announced.
