SHEBOYGAN FALLS - The nation's number one sausage maker is expanding.
Johnsonville broke ground on an addition to its facilities in Sheboygan Falls Tuesday.
The new 40,000 square foot section will primarily be used for new product development which will also add about 30 full-time jobs.
"This is one of many projects we have on the horizon for 2013. So we've got a lot of investment, a lot of expansion going on and a lot of new projects so it's all about our growth," said Johnsonville president Bill Morgan.
Sheboygan Falls is about 10 miles from Johnsonville where the still private company began 67 years ago.
The addition is expected to be completed next year.
