Hammer-wielding robber steals cash, cigarettes

KIEL - Kiel police say a man armed with a hammer stole cash and cigarettes from a gas station Sunday night.

Officers say it happened just after 11 p.m. at the Kiel Mobil, 84 E. Park Ave. The man walked in, demanded money, and ran away with an undetermined amount of cash and several cartons of cigarettes.

The robber is described as between 25 and 35 years old, about 6-foot-1 with a medium build. He was wearing a heavy, dark blue winter coat with the hood pulled up and a dark scarf or bandana across the lower half of his face. He wore black winter gloves, black jeans and tennis shoes.
