SHEBOYGAN - A 42-year-old man is in stable condition following a stabbing in Sheboygan Friday night.
He was discovered around 11:20 p.m. near the corner of North 14th Street and Erie Avenue.
Police say an officer was patrolling near a Starbucks when he heard a man moaning and discovered him in the bushes with injuries.
Officials say the 42-year-old left a house in the 1400 block of Erie Avenue after being stabbed in the back with a large knife. He then collapsed in the bushes.
He was first transported to a hospital in Sheboygan and then flown to a Milwaukee hospital.
Officers have a 51-year-old Sheboygan man in custody in connection with the stabbing. He was arrested at the residence where the stabbing occurred. Police say the man has an extensive record with the police department.
Police say the suspect and the victim knew each other, and they believe alcohol was a factor in the incident.
