SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) - A 14-year-old boy has pleaded not guilty to helping his friend rob and kill the friend's great-grandmother at her Sheboygan Falls home last September.
Nathan Paape of Sheboygan entered his plea Tuesday in Sheboygan County. The plea comes less than two weeks after Paape's friend, 14-year-old Antonio Barbeau, also of Sheboygan, pleaded not guilty by mental disease or defect.
The Sheboygan Press reports Paape's attorneys want his trial moved because of pre-trial publicity. A hearing is scheduled for Feb. 14.
Both teens are charged as adults with first-degree intentional homicide. They're accused of using a hammer and a hatchet to kill Barbeau's great-grandmother, 78-year-old Barbara Olson, at her home Sept. 17, and then stealing money to buy marijuana and pizza. Both boys were 13 at the time.
