OSHKOSH - Tickets go on sale Monday morning at the Leach Ampitheatre box
office for a June 30th screening of 'Public Enemies.' The movie was
filmed in-part in downtown Oshkosh.
"It was neat for the city to have stars here,"
There are just more than 500 tickets for the screenings, ranging from $30 dollars for the movie alone to $75, including a reception at the old bank building downtown where a robbery was staged for the film.
"Just seeing the trailer online, you can point out, oh that's Oshkosh, so it's really cool," said Lisa Bifano, who works at the New Moon Cafe in downtown.
New Moon was one of several businesses that got a hollywood
facelift during filming. Many of those businesses will be hosting
movie inspired activities the day of the screenings.
"Instead of doing our monthly gallery walk where we have
local artists put up artwork, we're going to have locals who took
pictures of the movie put their stuff up," said Biffano.
The screenings themselves will be held at Marcus Theater in Oshkosh. 'Public Enemies' is set to hit theaters nationwide the following day, July 1.
