MARINETTE - The Wausaukee Rescue Squad’s former treasurer has been ordered to stand trial on charges she stole money from the agency.
Amanda Stumbris, 41, waived her right to a preliminary hearing in court Monday. Prosecutors say she embezzled more than $132,000 over three years. According to the criminal complaint, Stumbris used a rescue squad debit card to make cash withdrawals. She also allegedly purchased satellite television service and movies. Investigators say she also covered gambling expenses.
Stumbris is due back in court to enter a plea on the charges Dec. 14.
