CRANDON - A boy has been arrested after a YouTube video showing students being shot near a school in Crandon led to a weekend search of the building.
Sheriff’s officials say they learned about the video over the weekend. Using the Crandon school building as a backdrop, it depicted students being shot. Deputies then arrested the boy believed to be responsible. In searching the boy’s house, deputies did not find any weapons or additional evidence.
On Sunday, school and law enforcement officials searched the school complex. That search also turned up no new evidence.
The sheriff’s office says the video was made in poor judgment and there is no danger to anyone.
The boy was expected to appear in court Monday.
