OCONTO - A Shawano man has pleaded not guilty to killing his lover and her brother.

Daniel Schmidt, 29, made the plea in Oconto County court Monday. Prosecutors allege Schmidt shot and killed 32-year-old Kimberly Rose and her 21-year-old brother, Leonard Marsh, in their Gillett home in 2009. According to the criminal complaint, Schmidt and Rose had an affair before her death.

A five-day trial is set to begin May 6.
