Lakewood Zoo denied new permit

TOWN OF RIVERVIEW - It appears an Oconto County zoo will not be open anytime soon.

Thursday night, the town of Riverview board denied Casey Ludwig's request for a new permit.

Ludwig owns the Lakewood Zoo.

The zoo was closed earlier this year, when Ludwig was unable to get the needed federal and state permits.

Town board members say since Ludwig still does not have those permits, they will not issue a local permit.

We have not been able to contact Ludwig to find out what he plans to do next.
