No contest plea in animal neglect case

SHAWANO - A Shawano County man pleaded no contest to three charges after dead animals were found on his farm.

Joseph Brunner, 50, of Belle Plaine appeared in Shawano County court Wednesday.

Brunner was arrested in June after police found several dead cows on his farm.

He told authorities that the animals had been sick with pneumonia and wasting disease.

Brunner is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 30.
