Michigan’s governor has declared a state of energy emergency because of a propane shortage in the Upper Peninsula.
Gov. Rick Snyder says the shortage is the result of increased demand in cold weather as well as pipeline repair at a terminal in Rapid River, Mich.
An executive order Snyder signed suspends state and federal regulations on how long drivers transporting propane can work.
The executive order is scheduled to expire Feb. 3.
