ASHWAUBENON - With a Minnesota Vikings win, fans at the Bar West in Ashwaubenon watched the Green Bay Packers take on the Arizona Cardinals knowing it was somewhat of a playoff preview.
“I think they are doing a good job today and I hope they do the same kind of job next week,” said Bill Brey of Green Bay.
The Packers played most of its starters up to the fourth quarter, but Arizona already had some starters on the sidelines in the second quarter. It has some fans worried the Cardinals now might be too familiar with the Packers.
“I would prefer we don't play the Cardinals again because obviously you are showing them what's going on this week,” said Scott Tilkens of De Pere.
Other fans agreed with Coach McCarthy's game plan for his starters.
“With a young team I think he has to keep them in to maintain a high level of performance,” said Bob Krzuwina of De Pere.
Despite a mostly dominant performance by the Packers over the Cardinals, some fans wish things went a little differently so the team had another first round opponent.
“I'd rather see them beat up the Vikings,” said Cindy Wickesberg of Greenville.
“I would have liked to see the Packers take on the Vikings because I think we could beat them now, but I'll take the Cardinals,” said Carol Meyers of De Pere.
Other fans are happy the Packers won't be seeing purple next week.
“I'm a little scared since they did beat us twice, so I guess based on the other playoff teams I'm glad to play Arizona again,” said Tilkens.
No matter the opponent, the way the team is playing, fans agree
it could be an exciting next month.
