GREEN BAY - For one day, the '80s were brought back to the halls of Green Bay West High School for a photo shoot.
“The '80s are kind of my era,” said Mark Anderson who founded the STUN photography group, which organized the event. “It's just an opportunity for photographers and models to get out to a location that they normally wouldn't get to shoot in.”
STUN photography group started about a year ago with the idea of having three or four photographers get together to shoot. At the '80s shoot, more than 200 people were expected to participate.
Membership in the group is free. Although, some photo shoots require participants to pay a fee. The group has come together in the past to shoot various themes including classic cars and heavy metal.
“Lots of people getting together, doing what they do, having fun,” said Jeri Olm, owner of Yikes Hair Salon in Green Bay. Olm was at the event doing hair and makeup for models in the photo shoot.
STUN photography group is made up of photographers, models, and hair and makeup specialists. All of them work together to help each other perfect their individual talents.
“You get to work on your portfolio and the photographer's portfolio,” said Cindy Seneshal who participated in the event as a model.
“I'm just trying to learn a little more about photography,” said John Penokie of Green Bay who was photographing at the event. “It’s helped a ton.”
“We want people to come out and learn more about photography on either side of the camera,” said Anderson.
People at the event were having fun with the photo shoot’s theme.
“Brings back some scary memories from high school,” said Penokie.
“Definitely not the hair, maybe some of the makeup, bright colors I like that,” said Seneshal about '80s fashion. “I think its coming back.”
