OSHKOSH (AP) - A recent billion-dollar military contract has helped lift shares of Oshkosh Corp. above their 52-week high.
Shares for the Oshkosh-based vehicle maker were at $24.83 in morning trading Wednesday. That's up $1.14, or 4.8 percent.
Shares had traded in a 52-week range of $3.85 to $24.45. They soared fivefold over the last four months.
The company has had a recent string of good news, including a $1.1 billion defense contract awarded last month. Oshkosh will deliver more than 2,200 all-terrain trucks designed to deliver power and agility for U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan.
Company officials said Tuesday the contract will lead to the creation of as many as 1,150 jobs, mostly in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
Oshkosh has about 12,000 employees worldwide.
