ST. NAZIANZ (AP) - The condition of the 7-year-old girl who survived when a truck broke through the ice on Lake Winnebago is improving.

Tiffany Dombrowski of St. Nazianz had been in critical condition at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in suburban Milwaukee. She was flown there Feb. 14, after the truck she was in plunged into the icy water.

Her 9-year-old friend, Savannah Kleinhans, and Savannah's father, Dan Kleinhans, died in the accident, which happened on the opening day of the sturgeon spearing season. The pickup truck sank after hitting a crack in the ice, which was obscured by snow.

Dombrowski was upgraded to fair condition on Monday.
