Wassmann sentenced in fatal crash

APPLETON - An Appleton man learned his fate Friday for killing a woman while driving drunk in 2007.

The accident happened on Highway 41 in the Town of Menasha.

25-year-old Douglas Wassmann was sentenced to 10 years probation for the crash that killed 30-year-old Diana Sievers.

In years 2 through 10 of his probation, Wassmann will have to do 200 hours of community service each year.

The judge also ordered Wassman to pay $18,000 to Siever’s family.
