APPLETON - New details are being released about the closing of an Appleton paper converting facility.

As FOX 11 reported in December, Wausau Paper will be closing its Appleton plant by the end of 2009.

The move is part of a more than $6 million project to relocate its paper converting equipment to plants in Minnesota.

According to paperwork filed Monday with the state Department of Workforce Development 86 employees are laid off as a result of the closure.

The company says 14 workers will be laid off by July 31. The remaining workers will be laid off by December 31.
