FOND DU LAC - The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department issued an appeal for help Monday.

"I'm pleading with you people to get this out," said Fond du Lac County Sheriff Mick Fink.

Flanked by a mannequin, the Fond du Lac Sheriff laid out everything he knew about the Jane Doe, found by hunters in this partially frozen creek in the southern part of the county at the end of November.

"This is what we know," said Fink. "This is what she was dressed in when we found her body."

That includes a pink and black top which officials say can be found at Family Dollar stores, and Angels brand jeans which they say can be found at Kohls' stores. Some other information, officials believe the woman was Caucasian but can't rule out Hispanic, around 15-21 years old, between 110-135 pounds, and about 5' 1" tall, with light brown to dark blonde hair. They also say forensic analysis also showed she was possibly knock-kneed, pigeon-toed, or both.

"Which we really think how she carried herself when she walked would have been a distinctive characteristic of hers," said Sheriff Fink.

Officials believe the body was on the property about 30-90 days before hunters stumbled upon it, and at this point don't yet know a cause of death, but are treating it as a homicide investigation.

"We're going to look at it as that until we can prove otherwise." said Fink. "Is it possible she just got there somehow? Yeah. Is it probable? Probably not."

And the Sheriff's Department is hoping anyone, anywhere will be able to help them identify this Jane Doe, to help bring closure to a family somewhere, and help them to figure out why she wound up where she did.
