FOND DU LAC - Union members say a meeting between union leaders and company officials took place Tuesday afternoon.
The meeting was held at Mercury's headquarters and lasted for about two and a half hours. Details of the discussion have not been released.
The company said Monday night they would hold a meeting with union leaders to "bring clarity" to issues involving the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers' second vote.
FOX 11 spoke with Mercury spokesperson Steve Fleming Tuesday morning. At that time he said, "It is nothing more than an opportunity for the union and Mercury to talk."
Fleming decline to elaborate on what would be discussed or whether the talks will impact the company's decision to move 850 manufacturing jobs to Stillwater, Okla.
The company does say its proposal remains unchanged.
While Fond du Lac County leaders have no details on the talks they say the discussions offer some hope.
County executive Allen Buechel says he wants the situation resolved but will have the county board on standby for an emergency vote if necessary. He says he doesn't know what to think of this latest development but won't give up hope "until there is cheering in Oklahoma."
Union leaders did not return calls for comment.
