47 newspaper jobs to be lost in FdL

FOND DU LAC - Gannett Wisconsin Media plans to close its Fond du Lac production facility and downtown offices, leaving 47 people out of work.

Fond du Lac Reporter general manager and executive editor Richard Roesgen said news operations will be shifted to the Action Publications printing facility on the city’s west side. Printing and publication of The Reporter will move to the Gannett Wisconsin Media production facility in Appleton. The changes are expected to happen by Sept. 20.

Roesgen said affected employees are being encouraged to apply for other positions within the company.
