GREEN BAY - It was a playoff game atmosphere before Brett Favre's first appearance at Lambeau Field as a visitor.

“It's the greatest game of the year obviously,” said Levi Fuson of Green Bay.

“Never seen anything like this in my entire life,” said George Howard of Minneapolis.

No matter where you looked it was Favre fever.

“It's about football and there's nothing like him,” said Nicole Jolly of Green Bay.

While no one knew how the Lambeau crowd would react when Favre first took the field, everyone had their own idea.

“I pretty much think they should boo him,” said Fuson.

“Respectful,” said Jolly. “He didn't do anything to not deserve respect.”

“ I think its going to be half and half from what I have been hearing,” said Sherri Howard of Minneapolis.

When the pre game hype finally subsided, and the main event took center stage, the greeting for Favre was anything but welcome. But it didn't seem to bother Brett.

“It was about what I expected,” said Favre. “It seemed to get louder every time I took the field.”

After the game fans feelings on how Favre was treated in his return to Lambeau were mixed.

“I was anticipating kind of just a loud noise, but there were far more negative reactions than positive,” said Dave Letkiewicz of Milwaukee.

“I thought it was terrible for Packers fans because of the 16 years that he gave them,” said Judy Ninke of West Bend.

“For most of the game they did continue and it was well deserved because he is a traitor,” said Mike Karls of Milwaukee.

Fans say Packers and Vikings fans got along for the most part, and in the end the game lived up to the hype.

“We saw an exciting end,” said Letkiewicz. “I wish it would have come out with the Packers on top, but it doesn't always turn out that way.”

As for now, it's maybe next time for Packers fans. Although, fans realize you never know when it comes to number four.

Thirteen fans were arrested at the game, which police say is consistent with any other rivalry game. But 43 other fans were ejected for various misconduct violations--a number police say is slightly high.
