GREEN BAY - While thousands of fans made their way to Lambeau Field, Matt Verbust and Tyler Schmidt made their way around Lambeau Field.

"It's a huge game. Brett Favre is coming back. I don't expect to see him play here ever again," Verbust said. The two UW-Oshkosh fans were searching for a deal on two tickets, hoping to pay around $150 per ticket.

"Yeah we're gonna have to pay a lot but it'd be reasonable," Verbust said.

Across the stadium, dozens of deals were being made in what's known as scalper's alley. Bethany Hermel drove in from Minneapolis for the game and paid $260 for a ticket.

"I came last year on Monday night and didn't really plan on coming this year and then when Favre was on our team I'm like, I gotta see it," Hermel said.

You would think for ticket brokers that a game like this would be music to their ears. Well, it's not exactly. John Schmidt from Schmitty's tickets said tickets were selling for about $200 before the game. He said tickets were selling for more in the days leading up to the big game.

"A lot of people were coming in from out of town, " Schmidt said. "They wanted to buy and make sure they had tickets in their hand. Today, it's people trying to get in less expensive."

Many of the fans buying were wearing purple.

"I'm completely dumb-founded that there's this many Vikings fans. It's a disgrace," Packers fan Sean Duffy from Milwaukee said.

The tickets were too expensive for some fans though. Some Vikings fans came all the way from Minnesota just to tailgate.

"It's too expensive to spend $300 for a ticket to go to a game," Minnesota resident Nick Lacanne said. "It's expensive enough to come and do whatever but $300 a ticket gets to be quite a bit."

Even at $200, the tickets were too high for some buyers, and not high enough for those looking to sell.

Late last week, the website Stubhub reported that the average price for a tickets to today's game was $362.
