GREEN BAY - There are several concerns about the Packers-Vikings showdown at
Lambeau Field but the number one thing to look out for is
counterfeit tickets. Green Bay police and the Packers are warning
fans to make sure they are getting their tickets from a reliable
source or licensed ticket agency.
When the two teams met at the Metrodome earlier this year,
counterfeit tickets surfaced leaving hundreds of fans out in the
cold. Police say none have shown up locally yet, but just looking
at the tickets can be difficult to detect a fraud.
"With technology, yes, it's very easy to make some thing that looks real and that's why we want to express to people if you buy, buy from someone you know, are familiar with or an authorized ticket seller," said Commander Lisa Sterr, Green Bay Police.
"I would have tickets in hand before going to the game and I would not buy them on the street, especially for this particular game," said Eran Roth, operations manager for Packer Fan Tours which continues to buy and sell tickets for Sunday's game.
If you do have a ticket, police suggest you enter the stadium an hour before kickoff due to the crowds, and they also say the late start following Halloween night will likely translate into more intoxicated fans.
There will be more than 200 law enforcement officers on hand
Sunday to watch for counterfeits and help things run smoothly.
And if you're still looking for a ticket, we checked
reputable brokers who have plenty on hand. The price though starts
at $215 each and goes up from there.
Authorities say, to be safe, you should only buy tickets from brokers licensed through the National Association of Ticket Brokers.
