GREEN BAY - With so much to choose from...

"You get to play and do anything you want," exclaimed Maddy Steber.

And all of it free...

"I'd say the greatest thing is that most of the stuff is free!" Dominic Shonk said.

Kids in Green Bay packed in as much fun as possible on Kids' Day.

"Because we're kids and kids are supposed to have fun," said Steber.

There was bowling at Riviera Lanes, and splashing around at the Resch Aquatic Center just to name a few things.

It's a day to celebrate kids across Green Bay and show children how special they are to their families, and how important they are to the future of the community.

Parents said it's a good thing. "I think if you take a day and make it more-put a little more importance on it, I think it makes it a little more special, and everyone appreciates it a little bit more," said Mark Klemp.

Kids we spoke with explained why children deserve this day.
"Because they bring a lot of joy to the world and I really think they should be celebrated," said Shonk.

Mayor Jim Schmitt began Green Bay Kids' Day in 2003 when he took office, although he said it was a tradition in his own home well before that. Over the years, the annual event has grown tremendously. The mayor said 7,000 kids took part in this year's Kids' Day.

"That's a lot of kids, and I mean Bay Beach is busy, the bowling was very busy, I think a lot of kids, and it's expanded now, there's free movies," said Schmitt.

New this year, the Packers organization is taking part in Kids' Day.

"We're happy to be part of this and salute the Mayor, I think this is a great initiative," said Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy.

The Lambeau Field Atrium was filled with inflatables, plus kids could eat lunch inside the stadium, tour the Hall of Fame, and collect autographs from Packers players like Jason Spitz.

For Sam Phillip that was "very, very exciting!"

You can see it in the smiles on their faces... Kids' Day is a hit.

"Thanks Green Bay for celebrating kids!" exclaimed Shonk.
