Another Republican has thown her hat into the ring for the 8th Congressional District race.
Former State Rep. Terri McCormick of Grand Chute announced her candidacy Tuesday. She becomes the sixth Republican in the campaign, joining Kaukauna businessman Reid Ribble, Door Co. Supv. Marc Savard, Vilas County resident Kerry Thomas, retired radiologist Marc Trager of Howard and Brown Co. Supv. Andy Williams. The winner of the September 2010 primary will go on to face incumbent U.S. Rep. Steve Kagen, a Democrat, in the general election next November.
Former Niagara mayor Joseph Stern is running as an independent.
McCormick served in the state Assembly from 2000-06. She ran for the 8th Congressional District seat in 2006, but lost in the Republican primary.
