BAGHDAD - Wisconsin National Guard troops in Baghdad got a taste of home with a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. There are about 3,200 members of the Wisconsin National Guard serving in Iraq right now.
Troops from the 32nd Infantry Brigade say it's not quite like being with family and friends, but they're thankful for the taste of home.
"I think everybody back home should really appreciate what they have cause you don't realize what you have until you don't have it anymore. This really makes you miss being at home and all the pleasures and liberty you have at home," said Sgt. Chelsea Klemm of Baraboo.
About 2,500 dinners were served to the troops, including 100 turkeys and 35 hams, plus all the fixings.
The Department of Defense provided video of the meal to FOX 11.
