ASHWAUBENON - There are still many questions left unanswered about a tragic head-on car crash that took the lives of four people early Friday morning.  Authorities said one of the victims, 53-year-old Stephen Siebert, drove in the wrong direction on Highway 41 shortly before 1 a.m.

Siebert slammed head-on into another car, carrying 17-year-old Arielle Lewandowski, 20-year-old Paige Riley-Berg and 19-year-old Samuel Goudy.  Lewandowski, Riley-Berg, and Siebert all died at the scene.  Goudy later died during surgery at St. Vincent hospital.

"It's very sad and disappointing that something so silly as a car accident would take him away from me and his family," Alexis Bastian, Goudy's girlfriend of three months, said.  Bastian visited the crash site Friday night.

Police said Siebert caused the wreck when he headed north in the southbound lane.  Authorities believe he had been drinking before the crash.

FOX 11 contacted Siebert's family but were told the family does not want to comment about what happened.

Police said Siebert ended up on the highway after crashing through a fence near Ridge Rd. and driving up an embankment.  His Jeep Liberty stopped briefly in the Highway 41 median.

"Some folks stopped to see if he was alright, he was outside of the Jeep at that time. As they approached, they exchanged words from a bit of a distance and he got back in," Capt. Schultz said.

Police said that's when Siebert made the fatal decision to get back behind the wheel.  Just moments later, he crashed into the car carrying the three young people.

"It could have been avoided," Bastian said.

Authorities were not available Saturday to give an update on the investigation, but a toxicology report will likely be released some time next week detailing Siebert's blood alcohol content at the time of the crash.

Investigators said Friday they are also trying to figure out where he was in the hours leading up to the wreck.

"We're knee deep in the investigation," Schultz said.  "The crash recon(struction) guys and some other follow-ups we're looking into.  We'll do our best to get them the answers they deserve."

Funeral services have been finalized for two of the three young people killed.

Services for Samuel Goudy will be held Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Wichmann-Fargo Funeral Home in Appleton.  The funeral home is located at 3212 S Oneida St.

Services for Paige Riley-Berg will also be held Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Home in Appleton.  The funeral home is located at 606 N Oneida St.

Services for Arielle Lewandowski will be held at Westgor funeral home; although a date and time have not been set yet.
