GREEN BAY - Green Bay Police have recovered the Aaron Rodgers Drive sign after it was stolen early Saturday morning. The sign was put up earlier this week to replace the Minesota Avenue sign by East Short Drive to commemorate the return of Brett Farve to Lambeau Field.
Minnesota Ave. was changed to Aaron Rodgers Dr. As part of Green Bay's celebration of Brett Favre's return to Green Bay as a part of the Minnesota Vikings.
An officer doing a routine patrol stopped a 47-year-old Green Bay resident after he saw the unusual green glow of a street sign coming from inside the car. It was only after pulling the car over that the officer realized it was the recently installed sign.
According to officials, the man stole the sign as a joke and had
planned to give it to charity. Police arrested him for theft and
issued him a ticket.
The Department of Public Works has been notified and will be
replacing the sign.
