APPLETON - A lot of adults were dressed up today, but not for Halloween. They were wearing their Packers, Vikings and Favre jerseys as the Vikings team landed at the Outagamie County Regional Airport.
Security was tight as fans scrambled to catch a glimpse of Brett Favre. From the minute the plane arrived in Wisconsin territory, eager Packers, Vikings and Favre fans were waiting.
"I'm here to watch the Vikings come in and here with seven Packer fans that were going to the game tomorrow," says Kathie Sunwall of Minnesota. "They want Favre to be crushed basically so it'll be fun."
Armed with their cameras, spotting the Favre proved not an easy task. After landing, the teams buses took off for downtown Appleton where even more people awaited the arrival of number 4. But after the bus unloaded, the excited fans say they aren't sure if Favre was even on the bus,
"I think he was, he's a pretty good team player," says Adam DeCock, a Favre fan.
"I bet you he's getting dropped off in back," says Vikings fan Zack Labs. "There's too many Packer fans here."
"I wanted to see him come back to Green Bay again, and come back to Appleton," says Packers fan Marc Jankowski. "And unfortunately we didn't get to see him."
Some of the fans say this is Favre in the tan jacket, blue jeans and black hat. Other's say seeing him or not, it doesn't matter. All that matters is Sunday.
"I'm rooting for the Packers," says Jankowski. "I'm a Packer fan even though I like Brett Favre, I'm a Packer fan."
"Once the clock starts ticking I'll be a Packer fan all the way," says DeCock.
