MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Prostate cancer in men and breast cancer in women were the most common cancers between 2002 and 2006 in Wisconsin.
A new report by the state Department of Health Services shows that over that five-year period an average of about 27,300 cancers were diagnosed among Wisconsin residents annually, killing about 10,800 a year.
Cancer is second only to heart disease as the leading killer in Wisconsin. According to the report, lung and bronchial cancer was the most common killer of both men and women.
