Classmates of a UW-Green Bay student, who was killed in a highway accident, held a special service in her honor Monday night. Nineteen-year-old Whitney Radder was killed last Tuesday. The crash happened on Highway 41 when a trailer separated from a truck and hit her car.

Friends and family members gathered at the UW-Green Bay Ecumenical Center for what they called "a celebration of Whitney's life."

Several friends shared their memories of Whitney.

"Whitney loved everybody for who they were," said UWGB Freshman Kelly Peterson. "She never judged a book by its cover. She had this incredible sense of justice for all. And she had this incredible passion for teaching and she loved children."

Radder was also a member of the Phuture Phoenix program . A memorial award is being set up in her honor.

The University is also creating a special scholarship in Radder's name.
