GREEN BAY - Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is gracing the cover of Sports Illustrated.
The NFL Preview issue set to be released this week shows #12 behind center Scott Wells.
The magazine also features an article by Peter King that predicts the Pittsburgh Steelers over the Packers in Super Bowl XLV.
The regional cover is one of five being released nationwide. The other issues have the starting quarterbacks of the New York Jets, Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints, and San Diego Chargers on the cover.
Rodgers was also on the cover of one of last year’s Sports Illustrated NFL Preview issues. Matt Ryan, Tony Romo, and Ben Roethlisberger were also featured.
The Green Bay Packers were predicted to be in the Super Bowl in the 1996 Sports Illustrated NFL Preview issue. Reggie White, Brett Favre, and Robert Brooks were on the front with the text “Super Bowl XXXI: It’s Going to Be Green Bay vs.” Reveled behind the fold were Kansas City Chief’s Marcus Allen, Steve Bono, and Neil Smith.
The Packers went on to win Super Bowl XXXI. They defeated the New England Patriots 35-21 at the Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
