MADISON (AP) - The leader of the Wisconsin state Senate says he doesn't think there's enough votes in the Legislature to override an expected veto of a bill changing who names the secretary of the Department of Natural Resources.

Democratic Senate Majority Leader Russ Decker of Weston made the prediction Thursday.

Gov. Jim Doyle has repeatedly said he opposes the bill. It takes the power to appoint the secretary away from him and gives it instead to the Natural Resources Board.

Doyle has not said whether he will veto the measure but it's widely expected he will.

Two-thirds of both Assembly and Senate members must approve the override to be successful. The bill passed the Assembly 49-44 earlier this month and cleared the Senate 21-11.
