(CNN) - When a reptile hits the road, it creates curiosity.
An alligator jumped out of a truck onto a highway. It was on the way back from an elementary school's show-and-tell presentation.
After hours of an unsuccessful two-man hunt, a canine was brought in to sniff out the escapee. Officials think the alligator is in a pond in the woods near the highway where it jumped out.
The 4-foot alligator is not dangerous to humans, since there is electrical tape wrapped around its snout.
